About Daniel

My name is Daniel Wayanda, some call me Dannis, but I prefer to be called DANIEL. I know…it's a long story.

First of all I want to thank you for dropping by and visiting my website. I'm a local artist in Toronto, ON, trying to enhance my talent and pursue my passion.  Much of my work is inspired by my life, imagination, and surroundings. Also, I enjoy the challenge of creating custom pieces for my clients, but currently, I am mainly creating portraits.

To further elaborate on my past experiences and background, let me start with where it all began. I was born in Congo (DRC),  also formerly known as Zaire. I migrated in Canada when I was 13 years old, and this country has been what I consider my second home. I am also a proud Torontonian, so let me shout out to “The 6ix”, “T.Dot,” or whatever you want to call it. We, The North, baby!

If you are familiar with Congo, then you already got a hint that I speak French. I attended college in Toronto, where I studied Nursing. Yes, I know what you’re thinking! Believe it or not, I enjoyed my studies in nursing and the experience I got working as a nurse, but also I continued to further my skills in sketching and painting even when I was a student. As a nursing student, my passion for art remained, but I never wanted to put in the hard work just to end up what is commonly known as the starving artist. Nonetheless, I decided to do both: continuing my love in the health field while further expanding my art skills. As the saying goes, "get you, someone who can do both"... by the way, this is a joke.

I realized the significance of my art pieces when a few entrepreneurs approached me and encouraged me to take one step forward to open up opportunities to sell my artwork online. Here I am today, taking a leap of faith to share my passion with you, and I hope you enjoy what I do.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that my art will make you feel some way, but I know that Art is therapeutic. While looking at my creations, what you feel is what my art speaks to your soul. So enjoy it.

Please feel free to browse around, shop, or contact me. This is just the beginning of a long-term relationship.

I can't wait to hear from you!

. I'm looking forward to share my passion of arts with you.
